| 1. The United Nations Oceans Conference (UNOC) just ended in France. This event was a big step forward for protecting the world’s oceans. The Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) accord, often known as the High Seas Treaty, was the main topic of the meeting. The goal of this convention is to conserve the seas and set up marine protected zones in waterways that belong to more than one country.

| 2. India is now at the top of the list of countries that might use solar electricity from abandoned coal mines. Recent study shows that it is possible to turn damaged land into useful solar energy locations. This change might lower energy needs and help create jobs at the same time.

| 3. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari started the FASTag Annual Pass program in June 2025. The goal of this program is to make it easier for people who own private vehicles that aren’t used for business to drive on national roadways. The plan is meant to fix problems that have been around for a long time at toll plazas, making it easier and cheaper for people who travel a lot.

| 4. The global oil market is facing some uncertainty as tensions escalate between countries, especially between Israel and Iran. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has put out its “Oil 2025” report, which looks at the main factors that will affect the supply and demand for oil in the next few years. This analysis says that even though global oil consumption is likely to rise, production capacity will be able to meet it.

| 5. NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft produced a big finding in the field of space exploration. It found a shell of superheated plasma at the heliopause, which is the point where the Sun’s influence ceases, from about 24 billion kilometers away. This discovery helps us understand how the heliosphere and interstellar space work.

| 6. The Ministry of Education put out the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 report for 2022–23 and 2023–24. This study looked at how well states and Union Territories (UTs) did in school. The Ministry of Education came up with the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0, which is a framework based on evidence that looks at the educational system in all States and UTs in an organized and data-driven way.

| 7. The Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology opened India’s first 3-nanometer (3nm) chip design centers in Noida and Bengaluru. This puts India within a small group of countries that are leading the way in chip technology.

| 8. The 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) passed the resolution “Skin diseases as a global public health priority,” which was the first time that skin health was recognized as a global priority. Countries like Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Togo led this resolution, which changed the way we think about skin health from a cosmetic issue to a global public health, equity, and dignity issue. It brought attention to a problem that affects 1.9 billion people, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
