1. The National Statistical Office has started the first-ever Annual Survey of Incorporated Services Sector Enterprises (ASISSE). This is a big step toward making India’s statistical system stronger. The goal of the project is to create a strong and complete database of the country’s incorporated services sector, which is important for creating jobs and boosting the economy.
राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी कार्यालयाने ‘नोंदणीकृत सेवा क्षेत्रातील उद्योगांचे पहिले वार्षिक सर्वेक्षण’ (ASISSE) सुरू केले आहे. भारताची सांख्यिकीय प्रणाली अधिक बळकट करण्याच्या दिशेने हे एक महत्त्वपूर्ण पाऊल आहे. देशातील नोंदणीकृत सेवा क्षेत्राचा एक भक्कम आणि परिपूर्ण माहितीसंच (डेटाबेस) तयार करणे, हे या प्रकल्पाचे उद्दिष्ट आहे; जे रोजगार निर्मिती आणि अर्थव्यवस्थेला चालना देण्यासाठी अत्यंत महत्त्वाचे आहे.

2. The European Union Parliament has recently approved new rules for water pollution that make it easier to keep an eye on Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS). 3. The National Assembly of Vietnam has unanimously chosen To Lam, the General Secretary of the Communist Party, to be the country’s president for five years. This is a big change in the country’s politics. The change puts the two most powerful positions in Vietnam under one leader, which goes against the country’s long-standing tradition of collective leadership. 4. The Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu, reached criticality, which is a big step forward for India’s civil nuclear energy program. 5. Reports say that Campbell Wilson, the CEO of Air India, has stepped down from his job before the end of his contract, which was supposed to last until July 2027. This news comes at a very important time for the airline, which has been going through a big change since the Tata Group bought it. Sources say that the resignation was sent in recently, but there is still not much official confirmation or explanation.

6. Bangladesh has started an emergency vaccination campaign for more than a million children because a measles outbreak is spreading quickly. The rise in cases has raised public health concerns, leading to urgent immunization efforts to stop the disease from spreading and stop severe complications, especially among vulnerable groups.

8. The FAO Food Price Index went up in March 2026, mostly because energy prices went up because of rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The rise shows that global food prices are sensitive to outside shocks like wars and changes in fuel prices, which have a direct effect on production, transportation, and supply chains.
